Midwich wins 2020 Outstanding Achievement Award

Multi-award-winning global tech company Midwich, headquartered in Diss, Norfolk, is delighted to announce they have been named winner of the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2020 Norfolk Business Awards.

For 30 years, the Norfolk Business Awards has celebrated and rewarded business excellence. This year, the awards acknowledge the strength and endurance of the Norfolk business community, despite the many challenges of 2020.

Midwich has been recognised with the Outstanding Achievement award for playing a transformative role in business and the wider business community. Midwich’s achievements have played an important part in firmly placing Norfolk on the map as an innovative and dynamic place to live and work. The award looks at the company’s 40-year history, as well as the positive impacts Midwich has generated and will continue to deliver into the future.

Mark Lowe, Midwich Managing Director, UK and Ireland, (pictured below) comments:

“To be recognised for our outstanding achievement in 2020, in the toughest of years, is a testament to the wonderful people that work for Midwich. They are what makes the company an incredible place to work for, and even though we’ve grown to be a global company, we will always be proud of our Norfolk heritage and the positive impact we continue to have locally as Diss's largest employer.”

Richard Porritt, Business Editor, Archant, comments:

“At the start of the year no-one could have predicted the impacts the virus would have on business. But equally no-one would have predicted some of the incredible ways our business community rose to the challenge. These awards are the perfect opportunity to celebrate the ways in which businesses have survived and thrived throughout these challenging times.”

In a difficult year, Midwich’s staff rose to the challenge by working around the clock to support their customers with the increased demands for new technologies in key sectors such as healthcare (NHS), corporate, education, retail, residential, and hospitality. Midwich supplied technology solutions for the new NHS Nightingale Hospitals, which opened at the height of the pandemic, as well as many other key sectors across the UK and internationally.

As part of Midwich’s community efforts, every two years, staff vote to support a Norfolk-based charity with fundraising activities reaching more than £100k in recent years. In November 2020, Midwich employees handed over a donation of £27,000 to their selected charity partner, local mental health charity Norfolk and Waveney Mind, following two years of engagement. Midwich has 250 people based in their Diss office and a further 750 employees located across the UK and Ireland, Continental Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
