Midwich staff donate items with charity in Mind

Multi award-winning global tech company Midwich, with its head office in Diss, is delighted to announce that its Christmas staff donation initiative for mental health charity, Norfolk and Waveney, Mind has been a huge success.

A donation station was created in Midwich’s offices and employees were asked to bring in any unwanted possessions in a donation bag. The bags were then donated to Midwich’s local Mind shop in Diss, Norfolk.

Over 65 donation bags, weighing in at a whopping 315kg of items have been donated – that’s the equivalent of two full grown male reindeers!

Midwich announced its two-year partnership with Norwich and Central Norfolk Mind at the start of 2019 and plans to exceed the £45,000 raised for its previous charity partner, Nelson's Journey. Norwich & Central Norfolk Mind provides life-saving information when people need it most. The team work to reduce the stigma associated with mental health, support people in their recovery and champion better services for all. Mind believes that with the right support and resources anyone can create a life that feels meaningful.

Tracey Spillings and Simon Evetts (pictured), Midwich employees and members of their CSR team, commented:

‘We are proud to be able to support MIND and to help our local Mind team continue its invaluable work. The initiative has been so popular with our staff that at one stage our donations station burst its banks due to the sheer volume of bags received.’

Midwich recently launched their charity pledge which forms part of their Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) focus. As part of that, the trade-only distributor has committed to raise between £40-50k for the Mind charity throughout 2019-20.
