Charity match raises £150 for Nelson’s Journey...

On Thursday 25th May, staff members from various Midwich offices including Diss, Crowthorne and Manchester competed to take home the coveted 2017 Midwich football trophy and raise vital funds for  Nelson’s Journey.

30 Midwich employees raised £150 for the charity, with Midwich’s Diss office lifting the trophy, beating the Crowthorne office on the night.

Barnaby Chenery, Business Development Executive from Midwich commented:

“It’s was great taking part in the Midwich charity match but more importantly, we raised money for a great local charity! All the matches were played in the right spirit and win, lose or draw, everybody seemed to have a great time.“

In April 2017, Midwich announced their new chosen charity, Nelson’s Journey for 2017-18 having previous partnered The Big C cancer charity raising £27k between 2015-16.

Nelson’s Journey continues to provide support to children and young people, living in Norfolk, who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life, helping them to move forward positively with their lives.  Already this year the charity has received over 300 referrals for children and young people, if pace continues they are set to work with over 1000 children this year.  They supported over 780 during 2016.

Nelson’s Journey provide support in several ways – from 1:1 support sessions to therapeutic weekends – all of which are completely free to our service users, thanks to the amazing support from local businesses and the Norfolk community.

A big thank you for our partners, Brother and OKI for their contribution towards the pitch hire costs.
