Versatile, sharp shooting
A Canon lens that lets you get close with 12x optical zoom, while 28mm wide-angle fits more in the frame for great group shots and sweeping landscapes. Intelligent IS automatically adjusts the optical Image Stabilizer to the scene from 7 modes to prevent blur and deliver sharp, detailed photos and videos.
HS System (12.1 MP)
HS System excels in low light allowing you to capture the real atmosphere of the moment without flash or tripod. A high performance DIGIC 4 processor and high sensitivity sensor combine to give superior image quality in all situations.

Fingertip control
A large, high-resolution 8.0 cm (3.2") PureColor II Touch LCD provides intuitive touch control for fast, easy operation and pleasurable playback. Advanced controls include Touch AF to focus the shot, Touch Shutter to focus and trigger the shot and customisable layout of functions.
Full HD movies
Create Full HD (1080p) movies with stereo sound you'll be proud to share. Use the optical zoom to get close to the action while Powered and Dynamic image stabilisation keep movies steady. A dedicated movie button instantly switches from stills to movie mode; an HDMI-CEC connector allows easy playback on an HDTV.
Smart Auto
Effortlessly shoot high quality photos or movies with Smart Auto, which detects the scene and selects the perfect settings from 32 variables (21 in movie). All you have to do is point and shoot.
High-speed Burst. Super Slow Motion Movie
High-speed Burst delivers non-stop photo shooting, capturing 7.8 shots per second (3.0 MP), so you never miss a thing. Super Slow Motion Movie slows fast-paced action to 1/8th of the real speed.
iFrame movie (720p). Movie Digest
Shoot PC and Mac friendly HD video (720p) in the optimised Apple iFrame format for fast importing, easy editing and simple sharing. Movie Digest records up to 4-seconds of action before each still shot, joining the day’s clips into a bonus VGA movie.
Creative modes
Explore your creativity with fun shooting modes. Effects include Toy Camera for an older style camera look, Miniature to transform a photo or movie scene into a scale model and Monochrome.
