Casio partner with Wavelink in device management software promotion for the DT-X8 rugged hand-held terminal

Casio’s DT-X8 rugged hand-held terminal to include the Avalanche, Terminal Emulation and Industrial Browser software products

The DT-X8 from Casio is an ultra-rugged hand-held terminal designed to operate in a range of demanding environments. Available through Synergix, the barcode and EPOS division of trade-only distributor Midwich, Casio released the DT-X8 in 2011 to meet the demand for tougher terminals.
Now, Casio has partnered with mobile device management developers Wavelink to pre-load the DT-X8 with its market leading Terminal Emulation (TE) software. Wavelink Avalanche and Wavelink Industrial Browser will also be an approved option which can be purchased and loaded separately as required.
Existing Casio DT-X8 customers will also be able to retrospectively download the mobility software onto their device.

The Wavelink software now available on the Casio DT-X8 is as follows…

Wavelink Terminal Emulation (TE) is the market leader with over 4 million clients installed. TE is a complete environment, available to every device running Wavelink TE at no additional cost. The environment includes Session Persistence, Screen Reformatter, and high level of customization with settings and configuration options, and automation of data entry using scripting tools.

Wavelink Avalanche enables remote hands-free setup and management of hand-held devices from the initial stages of provisioning, all phases of mobile computer use, returning devices into the population from service, repair or alternative use, and into retirement.

Wavelink Industrial Browser allows customers to access traditional host-based apps and web-based apps with one software deliverable. The Industrial Browser offers features to integrate scanning, security, speech and security for workers using web-based apps.
