Olympus offers 256 bit encryption on professional dictation products through Midwich
256 bit encryption makes Olympus’ digital dictation products even more secure

Olympus has consistently been a leader in the integrated audio solutions market and continues to innovate – now by offering 256 bit encryption to its professional dictation products available through trade-only distributor Midwich.
In a professional environment, such as in the medical and legal world, it is vital to keep information confidential and secure. Basic digital recorders, and the analogue versions of yesterday, were not able to keep data safe from unauthorised access.
In this highly digitised world, Olympus has risen to the challenge of keeping voice files safe under a digital ‘lock and key’ by using four digit PIN and 256 bit encryption, the highest level of security to date.
Following the launch of the new DS-7000 digital voice recorder, Olympus has developed a firmware update that will also allow the DS-5000 and DS-5000iD devices to record in 256-bit encryption. The latest version of DSS Player Pro is required to cater for the new encryption standard.
