Acquisition of RADVISION by Avaya
RADVISION, provider of video conferencing and telepresence technologies, has this week been acquired by leading communications brand Avaya. RADVISION will continue to operate as an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Avaya under the RADVISION brand.
The acquisition will put Avaya in a position to provide open, affordable and easy-to-use video collaboration solutions suitable for businesses of any size. Together, the companies will be able to tackle the previously expensive, complex and disconnected experiences that have been known to limit the broader use of video as a business collaboration tool. This new alliance will allow video conferencing to be used in any business, regardless of the user’s system, location or device.
Avaya will now have the opportunity to offer ad-hoc desktop and mobile video capabilities, and to bring together video streams for improved B2B and B2C communications. Together, the companies will offer SMEs affordable video and allow them to use such B2B and B2C communication technologies that were previously only available to larger enterprises.
Thanks to RADVISION’s 20-year heritage in the video conferencing industry, Avaya can now deliver pervasive video that is distinguished by simplicity, practicality and interoperability. Compatibility has already been established between RADVISION’s SCOPIA® endpoints and infrastructure with Avaya Aura®, Avaya Flare® Experience on the Avaya Desktop and Video Device, and Avaya UC 1000 series video endpoints.
