Midwich buys French AV distributor SIDEV
Midwich has acquired French audio visual distributor SIDEV through a newly formed subsidiary, Midwich France SAS.
Established in 1990, SIDEV has offices in Lyon and Paris and is a trade-only distributor of audio visual products to AV dealers, IT resellers and custom installers in the residential market.
Stephen Fenby, the finance director at Midwich who led the transaction, said: "The French AV market interests us because it is one of the three largest in Europe but it does not have a dominant distributor. Marc Piegay and his team have an excellent reputation in the French market but have lacked the investment and support to take advantage of this fully."
